It’s about a brutal undertaker named Coffin Joe who is obsessed with “continuing his blood,” in other words, having a son. For his wife, who hasn’t had any children, that means bad fuckin’ news. Some great parts include a blasphemous Joe eating a leg of lamb on a “holy day” while laughing at procession of church goers going past his window (and later forcing an unlucky superstitious man to eat meat with him), and then, in one of the greatest cinematic rants of all time, Joe, absolutely out of his skull, starts screaming in a graveyard, going after God, Satan, and pretty much the entire idea of an afterlife. I shit you not.
