Man oh Man. How have I never seen this?!? So your friend has a metal record that has explicit instructions about how to call forth demons with pagan inscriptions, ritual sacrifices and everything. Said record goes on to say something like “Now please don’t follow any of this, but if you do, here are instructions on how to shut the gate.” What a ridiculously awesome setup for a movie. If you like unselfconscious 80s horror films with awesome conventional special effects then The Gate is worth watching.
